Type Studies
A collection of works that demonstrate typographic foundations and system thinking. All of these short projects provided me with foundational knowledge of font structures and typographic anatomy. Certain restrictions created opportunities to be creative with positive/negative space, uniformity of letterforms, and color choices.
Poster Fold
A folding poster/flyer for the Disturbin The Peace festival in Baltimore. This project was a chance to experiment with different style choices and make intentional decisions that cater to a specific scene of music. I was able to develop a graphically appealing poster, as well as a folding system to organize information about the event, using only typography elements.
Magazine Spread
This 2 page Magazine spread was a project that allowed me to experiment with editorial direction and decision making in organization and choice of imagery. I learned how intentional layout decisions and typographic structure work together to create a cohesive, visually engaging reading experience across multiple pages.
Packaging
This project was my introduction to package design, It allowed me to develop techniques in designing logos, infographic systems, and overall organization of information on the exterior of a 3 dimensional package.
Artwork
A selection of my studio artwork created inside and outside of the classroom, Focusing on light, texture and atmosphere, My landscape drawings take inspiration from the incredible scenery in Southwest Montana.
Bio
I am from Plymouth, Minnesota, currently living in Bozeman Montana studying graphic design at Montana State University. Alongside my focus in design, I have a strong interest in studio art, particularly drawing.
My personal work takes a lot of inspiration from places and experiences that inspire me. Using simple materials to experiment with composition, contrast, and visual language.
My studio work lets me work more intuitively, while my design work emphasizes clarity and communication.
